What you say. We didn't know wha...It's true. . . What you say.

We didn't know what we were going to name our first daughter until an iron worker suggested the name Galena (we lived in the midst of old mining mountains at that time). Galena is an iron ore from which the highest majority of silver is found in. We really liked the name. Then that is when we moved and D came down with cancer. And after his first treatment he couldn't function for a good few days. After the 3rd day we decided to listen to an audio tape we picked up at the library called,'As Silver Refined' by Kay Arthur.

After listening to it and being very encouraged that there was purpose in all this I rather inavdertantly passed gas (like I would ever do it on purpose - ha ha) and i started laughing and laughing and Dan started laughing and laughing and we were both given this knowing that this suffering was humourous in light of eternity (sounds weird, but it was). For a very long time we laughed. Such a relief and so God. Anyway, it was that night that Dan said,'I bet we have a girl and we will call her Galena, because her name means silver and it also means healer in russian.

Gee, I am quite the storyteller. . . But each name was given by God in a totally unique way. Even River was born in a town called Campbell River and God told us that would be his name many years before he was born and before we ever considered moving to Campbell River. And Adielle, her name means 'ornament of God' or 'God's witness'.

ThanksThe Lewis Familyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10131747888736412319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1472738686788181312.post-63855147207687647192009-02-10T19:17:00.000-06:002009-02-10T19:17:00.000-06:00Your children will realize that this BIG GOD THING...Your children will realize that this BIG GOD THING is as simple as relationship and love by seeing how you relate to God.

Ours are 21, 16, & 13 this year. We have ALWAYS tried to focus on relationship not "religion".

What simply BEAUTIFUL names your little folks have! :)

Blessings on your family.Jamiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16376340819465748862noreply@blogger.com
